Provisions - Current Resident
IMPORTANT INFORMATION. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
1. CHANGES IN MOVE-OUT DATE. Under the Housing Contract, you must obtain written approval to move out prior to the original dates indicated in the Housing Contract. You may not hold over beyond the above move-out date. If the dwelling is re-let to others after we receive this notice, you will not be granted any extensions. We, and any new residents, may rely on this move-out notice for all purposes. Failure to move-out on or before the date indicated on this form may result in obligation of the full term of the Housing Contract regardless of circumstance.
2. DATE OF SURRENDER. You lose your right of possession on the move-out date. Thus, you must turn in your unit and mailbox keys and at the time of your move-out. Failure to do so will result in a fine.
3. EARLY MOVE-OUT AND OTHER HOUSING CONTRACT VIOLATIONS. Under the Housing Contract, our representative's receipt of this notice does not constitute approval of an early move-out and does not constitute a release of any liability to the resident for money due under the lease contract. We reserve all contractual and statutory remedies for unauthorized early move-out, including re-letting charges, late payment charges, returned check charges, damages, attorney's fees, contractual lien, utility cutoff, and liability for increased holdover rents and Housing Contract extensions. Unpaid balances will result in a financial stop with the university and may also result in reports to collection agencies.
4. CLEANING. Under the Housing Contract, you must leave the dwelling in a clean condition. Your apartment will be walked on the next business day following your move-out and assessed for damages or cleaning needs. Any items left in the vacated unit will be discarded. Each resident will equally be charged for damages to the common areas, unless a particular person take responsibility for said damages in writing.
