Thanks to a scholarship fund supplied by the AVCA Coaches 4 Coaches Committee and donations to the Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship Fund, the American Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce the 13th annual Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship Program. The program will provide scholarships to aspiring coaches hoping to attend their first AVCA Annual Convention. This is a unique opportunity to develop professional skills and learn about becoming a better coach and leader.

The 2021 AVCA Annual Convention will be hosted December 15-18 in Columbus, OH.

Eligible applicants must be active AVCA members who are attending their first AVCA Annual Convention. Please Note: If you are a varsity student-athlete, you must have exhausted all playing eligibility with your institution’s varsity program and confirm with the AVCA that you have discussed any potential continuing eligibility issues, should there be any by participating in this scholarship program, with your Athletic Director.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the committee based on contributions to the sport of volleyball on and off the court, a professional letter of recommendation, a professional résumé, and a personal written submission outlining their desire to attend the AVCA Annual Convention and their aspirations in coaching (see questions on following pages). The scholarship will cover hotel and AVCA Convention registration costs, but attendees will need to pay for their transportation costs and match tickets, if desired.

Scholarship Requirements: Scholarship recipients will be expected to participate in the Coaches 4 Coaches curriculum to include educational sessions, meetings, and social events. The AVCA and the Coaches 4 Coaches Committee would also like to give the scholarship recipients the opportunity to ‘give-back’ during the AVCA Convention. The recipients will participate in different events throughout the week in Columbus. Times, dates, and locations will be arranged and communicated by the AVCA. The AVCA will also ask the participants to keep a daily account of their experience for others to follow and to help grow the program in the future.

Please complete the scholarship application below and return with supporting documents to the AVCA Office by 5:00 pm (ET) Monday, October 11, 2021. The AVCA will contact all applicants prior to the early registration deadline for the convention (November 5) to inform you of your application status. If your application is chosen for a scholarship, you will receive instructions on how to properly register for the AVCA Convention.
