Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Provide general administrative and clerical support including filing, scanning, copying, making deliveries, etc.
• Develop databases as assigned.
• Assist program staff to execute recruitment activities.
• Assist with special events and programs sponsored by the program.
• Manage inventory of supplies and technology.
• Attend weekly staff meeting and occasional one-on-one meetings with supervisor.
• Complete necessary documentation as required by supervisor in a timely manner.
• Completion of other specific tasks and projects as assigned by program staff.
Students applying for this position must have:
• General appreciation for and understanding of the purpose of the McNair Scholars Program.
• Willingness to positively interact with scholars and other ambassadors.
• Ability to handle one's self in a professional manner at all times to communicate effectively with and be respectful of students, faculty, staff, and visitors (in person and via email communication).
• Proficient in basic computer skills, i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, web sites, and creating/updating databases, etc.), with special proficiency needed in Google Suite, Box, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and set priorities for multiple projects (organizational and time management skills).

Our Administrative Generalists have the option to move to Ambassador roles after learning the ropes of UMBC McNair.
Ambassador roles are more established with job expectations and work 10hr/week more consistently during the school year, whereas Administrative Generalists will receive work as needed (i.e., greater fluctuation in weekly hours).
