Research & Application for Social Change Grant
  • Instructions:

    Students, please complete the following online application to submit your RASCG  proposal. Each field below must be completed for the system to process your application. The “submit” button will not work if sections of the online are blank.    
       
    This application allows you to upload attachments in support of your grant proposal. Please do not email supporting documentation separately as it will be difficult for us to associate the documents with your pending application.

  • All students conducting doctoral capstone research (whether just beginning to collect data or wrapping up the writing process) are eligible to apply. Please indicate where you are in the process so that we have a better understanding of your funding needs.

  • Research Description

    Please use the template provided to create your research description. Instructions about specific information to be included in this description and how the document should be formatted are included in the template. Please download the 2021 Student RASCG Description Template, save the document as “Research Description – YOUR LAST NAME,” and then upload your document below.  

    In this document you will describe the problem statement, purpose statement, research question(s)/hypotheses, research methodology, and data analysis plans for your dissertation or doctoral study. Since you must have already obtained approval of your dissertation or doctoral study proposal from your doctoral committee in order to apply for this grant, we encourage you to copy sections of your capstone research proposal into the corresponding sections of the research description  document when addressing the points below.  

    Instructions about how to compose the research description are provided in the template; however, to make the process smoother, following are items you will be asked to address in the research description:

  • Research Budget

    Provide a budget that lists the costs associated with conducting the research activities described in your proposal. Activities/costs that may be included in budgets are time/effort spent conducting research, participant incentives, supplies, travel, and "other costs" (such as software for data analysis). All expenses charged to the budget must be directly related to the process of conducting the research proposed in this RASCG application.     Please use the template provided to create your grant budget. The template, which you can populate with the cost items specific to conducting your research, includes instructions for how to create a budget. Please download the 2021 RASCG Budget Template, save the document as “RASCG Budget – YOUR LAST NAME,” and then upload your budget above. As you create your budget please keep in mind that all expenses charged to the budget must be directly related to the process of conducting the activities proposed in this RASCG proposal

  • Research Budget Justification

    Provide a written justification for each cost listed in your budget. The budget justification is a way of showing the grant reviewer that the costs for conducting your research align with your proposal design/methodology and timeline. The template, which you can populate with the cost items specific to conducting your research includes instructions for how to create a budget justification.   • Research Timeline

    Provide a timeline for implementing and completing the proposed grant activities. The timeline is a way of showing the grant reviewer that the activities involved in conducting your research align with your proposal design/methodology and budget.     As you create your timeline keep in mind that the RASCG program is intended to support short-term, 1-year research studies.

The template, which you can populate with the activities specific to your proposed grant, includes instructions for how to create a timeline. Please download  the 2021 RASCG Timeline Template, save the document as “RASCG Timeline – YOUR LAST NAME,” and then upload your document above.

  • Please attach a copy of the Walden IRB approval letter for your dissertation/doctoral study research.
  • Please attach an up-to-date copy of your resume or curriculum vitae
  • Submit Application

    Submit your RASCG proposal by clicking the button below. Once submitted, you will receive an automatic reply confirming receipt of your application, which will include the tracking number for your grant application (RASCG-2021-S-XX).
