  • FORMS AND QUESTIONNAIRE Prior to commencing therapy with us, we require parents/guardians to complete a parent questionnaire to provide us with some background information about your child. Other important forms outlining fees, rebates and authorisations are also included – please have these forms back to us prior to the first session.

  • ASSESSMENT A 90-minute assessment is carried out during the initial consultation. This is a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s developmental and performance skills in relation to their environments at home, school and play. The assessment gives our therapists a solid foundation on which to focus their strategies and programs for your child. A summary letter will be issued after your child's parent feedback session, which outlines all assessment results. This is ideally done within 2 weeks of this assessment to parents/ guardians, and to any other authorised health teams who may be involved with your child’s development (eg: school, paediatrician, speech therapist, etc). Occasionally the therapist may recommend to hold off writing the assessment report until they have spent more time with your child. In this case you will be advised after the initial assessment. This assessment is vital in providing the most suitable therapy for your child and may only be waived if you have obtained a written report from another therapy service within the last 6 months. The previous report will need to be made accessible to us prior to your child’s first OT session.

  • ONGOING OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SESSIONS The first therapy session is a parent only session. This is charged as a regular therapy session. This session is incredibly important as gives the therapist the opportunity to talk openly about assessment results, feedback information, answer questions and set therapy goals with you. Therapy sessions will then commence, usually on a weekly basis. These sessions are 45-50 minutes long and may take place at your child’s kinder, school or at home. The therapist uses the remaining 10-15 minutes to put together the parent/teacher written communication and any homework.

  • CANCELLATION REMINDER Please note we have a cancellation policy that is outlined in our Fee Schedule. Parents/ guardians are responsible for notifying us in the event that your child is unable to attend a session (eg: due to illness, a school excursion or on holiday). Otherwise a cancellation fee of the total session cost is payable.
