Family Event Sign up: 2024 - 2025
As a part of our faith formation program, each family (grades K - 9) chooses (3) events to attend during the year. Students and at least one parent/guardian attend together.
Read through our options and sign up at the bottom of the list.
Signing up is necessary so we plan the appropriate space and supplies.
If your schedule changes and you need to switch dates, please let us know as soon as possible
1. Catechetical Sunday: Sunday, September 15; Attend 9:00 a.m. Mass where our catechists will receive a special blessing. Children make cards and signs of appreciation for our volunteers. Bring your cards/signs to the church hall by 8:45 before Mass. After Mass, we will all go downstairs for donuts.
2. Family Service Day at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine: Saturday, September 21. If enough people sign up, a bus will leave OSLH at 10:00 a.m. Arrive at the Shrine to do service on the grounds, have lunch and attend 4:00 Mass.
lunch and 4:00 Mass. Counts as all three of your family events. Older students may count (3) hours towards their Christian service requirement.
3. Family Rosary: Monday, October 7; 7:00 p.m. in Church. We will pray the rosary with parishioners. Families who sign up will have an option to lead a prayer. MONDAY NIGHT STUDENTS MEET IN CHURCH WITH YOUR FAMILY AT 6:45 P.M.
4. Sunday, November 24: Christ the Kiing: 9:00 Mass to celebrate Christ The King Sunday at OLSH. After Mass, gather in the parish center for activities to prepare for our King during Advent.
5. Sunday, December 8: Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration. 11:00 Mass at St. Anthony's with celebration and food after Mass.
6. Saturday, December 14: Festival of Lights at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. 4:00 Mass at Our Mother of Good Counsel. After Mass, bus to the Shrine to enjoy the Festival of Lights. Return approximately 9/9:30 p.m.
7. Saturday, January 4: Night Under the Dome. Meet at OLV for 4:30 Mass with event following Mass. Bring blankets and pillows to lay on the floor and look up into the Dome of the Basilica. Including kids activities and pizza.
8. Friday, February 7: Movie Night. 6:30 p.m. in the parish center gym. A family friendly movie and snacks. Bring a chair, blanket, pillow or whatever you want to be comfortable. There will be a second movie for our older students.
9. Wednesday, March 5: Ash Wednesday: 7:00 Mass in Church. Lesson after Mass with Lent activity and guide to take home.
10. Prayer Path: April 11 - 14
Choose one of the dates to walk through the Prayer Path together. (about 30-40 minutes)

Friday, April 11: 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 12: 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 13: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Monday, April 14: 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (no regular class this evening)
11. Thursday, April 17: Holy Thursday Mass, 7:00 p.m. Pilgrimage to Seven Churches after Mass.
12. For grades 6-9 only: "The Chosen"
This option will fulfill the 3 family event requirement for the year.
We will use this series as a guide to consider what does it mean for each of us to be chosen. Families will watch eight episodes of one Season. You will be provided with questions to answer together about each episode. We will choose dates & set up 3 zoom meetings to discuss what we learned.
