Family Event Sign up: 2023 - 2024
As a part of our faith formation program, each family (grades 1-10) chooses (3) events to attend during the year. Students and at least one parent/guardian attend together.
Read through our options and sign up at the bottom of the list.
Signing up is necessary so we plan the appropriate space and supplies.
If your schedule changes and you need to switch dates, please let us know as soon as possible
1. Catechetical Sunday: Sunday, September 17; 10:00 a.m. Mass with catechist appreciation.
Attend 10:00 Mass where our catechists will receive a special blessing. Children make cards and signs of appreciation for our volunteers. Bring your cards/signs to the church hall by 9:45 before Mass. After Mass, we will all go downstairs for donuts.
2. Family Day: Saturday, September 30 at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine. We will at the Shrine at 11:00 a.m. Our day will consist of learning about Our Lady of Fatima, service on the grounds,
lunch and 4:00 Mass. (older students can count just the service time towards their Christian service, but not the whole day)
(this will count for all 3 of your family events; younger children are also welcome)
3. Family Rosary: Thursday, October 5; 7:00 p.m. in Church
We will pray the rosary with parishioners. Families who sign up will have an option to lead a prayer. Students in grades 6-10 may also help for one hour of Christian service. (We will give you directions)
4. Eucharist Exhibit: Come and learn about Miracles of the Eucharist through this special Vatican International Exhibit. Miracles of the Eucharist Across the World was devised and planned by Blessed Carlo Acutis. This exhibit will be set up in our Church hall open to view on Saturday, October 14 after 4:30 Mass and Sunday, October 15 after all Masses. (choose your time)
5. Movie Night: Friday, November 17; 6:30 p.m. in the parish center.
A family friendly movie and snacks. Bring a chair, blanket, pillow or whatever you want to be
comfortable. There will be a second movie for our older students.
6. Be Thankful: Tuesday, November 21; 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Family time in preparation to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Meet in the parish center.
7. Celebrating Christmas: Tuesday, December 12; 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Keeping Christ in Christmas.
8. Our Lady of the Fatima Shrine: Visit the Festival of Lights through the month of December; 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Go with your family on a day and time you choose. Get the self-guided tour brochure from the Shrine website. Let us know that you went!
9. The Eucharist: Source and Summit of Faith: Thursday, January 11; 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Movie Night: Friday, January 26; 6:30 p.m. in the parish center.

11. Ash Wednesday: February 14; 7:00 Mass in Church. After Mass we will stay for a short lesson.
12. Prayer Path: March 22, 23, 24 & 25
Choose one of the dates to walk through the Prayer Path together. (about 30-40 minutes)
Come anytime between the times listed:
Friday, March 22: 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 23: 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 24: 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Monday, March 25: 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. (no regular classes this evening)
(Saturday and Sunday times are scheduled so you may come after any Mass)
13. Holy Thursday: March 28; 7:00 Mass and Seven Churches
After Mass, the tradition of visiting Seven Churches, car pool, follow along or go on your own following the booklet and map given.
14. Feast of the Ascension of Our Lord: Wednesday, May 8; 7:00 Mass with lesson after Mass.
15. Feast of Pentecost: Sunday, May 19. Meet in the church hall at 9:00 a.m. for lesson before Mass and then attend 10:00 Mass together.
16. For grades 6-10 only:
This option will fulfill the 3 family event requirement for the year.
Many of you may have seen, or heard of, the series “The Chosen.” We will use this series as a guide to consider what does it mean for each of us to be chosen. Families will watch eight episodes of one Season. You will be provided with questions to answer together about each episode. We will choose dates & set up 3 zoom meetings to discuss what we learned.
