B.R.I.D.G.E. Artist Educator Application Form
The London Arts Council (LAC) invites artist-educators residing in London, Ontario, and the surrounding First Nations (Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, Oneida Nation of the Thames, and Munsee-Delaware Nation) to apply for a paid opportunity to develop and deliver workshops for B.R.I.D.G.E. Workshop Series.

B.R.I.D.G.E.

Building Relationships through Intergenerational Dialogue, Growth, and Expression (B.R.I.D.G.E.) is a community-based free arts program that promotes creative aging, social inclusion, lifelong learning, and intergenerational connection through the arts.

This program is funded by the Westminster College Foundation and delivered by the London Arts Council in partnership with the London Public Library.

Ten (10) Artist-Educators will each develop a creative workshop and deliver it at seven (7) different community locations throughout London between August 2026 and June 2027.

Workshops may include visual arts, textiles, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, music, dance, drama, digital media, or other creative disciplines.

Artist-Educator Compensation
• Artist-Educators will be paid up to $450 for workshop development, planning, material preparation, knowledge sharing, and professional development activities.

• Artist-Educators will be paid up to $840 to set up, deliver, and clean up seven (7) workshop sessions.

• Total Artist Fee: $1,290

• Pre-approved art supply costs, equipment rental costs, and instrument rental costs will be reimbursed by the LAC (NOTE: these expenses MUST be pre-approved by LAC for reimbursement)

NOTE: If accepted as an artist-educator, individuals must complete the required immunizations, attend an orientation or education program, and submit a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check before starting the placement as conditions of placement.

Artist-Educator Qualifications

• Experience facilitating workshops and community arts programs for different age groups, especially seniors.

• Strong mentorship and coaching skills for volunteers and participants.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A demonstrated ability and experience to create welcoming, inclusive, and accessible learning environments.

• A demonstrated interest in fostering social connection, confidence-building, and well-being through the arts.

Senior artist-educators are strongly encouraged to apply.

Note: Workshops may be livestreamed or digitally recorded. Applicants should demonstrate familiarity with basic digital tools and technology-assisted facilitation. Artist-Educators will be expected to work with volunteers to deliver workshops.

    LAC will contact your two references directly by email to complete the Reference Form. Please provide all requested information. References submitted by the applicant will not be accepted. Acceptable references include managers, supervisors, or clients from work, volunteer, or artistic projects. References must be able to speak to your experience in the arts, arts education and facilitation.

    By submitting your references, you understand and agree that LAC will contact your references to complete the reference form, that both references need to complete the form in order for your application to be complete, and you authorize your references to release all information as requested.
