YES-Coast Program Information & Application
YES-Coast participants will:

• Meet other teens interested in experiencing the outdoors.
• Participate in fun activities like camping, hiking, kayaking, whale watching, and more.
• Learn basic photography and video to document and promote park experiences through PhotoVoice.
• Discover local coastal history, culture, and ecosystems, while developing leadership skills and exploring new careers.
• Earn a $150 stipend for attending and participating in all YES-Coast outings and spring campout. Transportation is provided for all activities from community pick-up sites in Santa Rosa.

In order to participate in YES-Coast, a commitment to attend all program activities is required:

• Participant and Parent/Guardian must complete application by Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
• If accepted, participant package must be completed by orientation on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
• 2018-2019 day trips on September 15, October 20, November 17, January 19, and February, 16
• 3-Day, 2-Night Coastal Campout – Spring Break, March 19-21, 2019
• Community Celebration & Participant Award Ceremony – April 2019. Space is limited.

You will be notified by September 7, 2018 if you have been accepted into the program. If selected, Irma Cuevas will contact you via email. Also, if selected, there is a mandatory participant packet to be filled by participants and their parents/guardians.

Program orientation will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2018, 6-7:30 p.m. Attendance is required, the location is to be determined. Those of you who are accepted to YES-Coast will be notified of orientation location ASAP.
