Logo Contract
Congratulations! We are excited to be working with you and want to make that we get your project off to a great start. This informational letter is to help explain the process and to set everyone's expectations throughout the project. Let’s start with some basics!
What a logo is-
A logo is a sign, symbol, text treatment, color, or a combination of these that represents your company’s brand. Your logo should be flexible enough to look good on all media. It should be versatile enough to stand alone in black and white, and print on a variety of media from pens to billboards. Think about how your logo would look embroidered, and how many colors it would take to print it on a t-shirt. Your logo should stand independently of any background textures or treatments. The goal is to keep production costs reasonable and stand out regardless of where and how your logo is being used.
What a logo isn't-
A logo is not your tag line or slogan, and should be able to stand independently from them. However, there may be times where you use them together for a particular marketing piece. A logo is not a photograph. A logo is not a knock-off of another well-known brand. A logo should never include your phone number, website URL, Email address, or social media references. What is included in your logo package: Your custom designed logo will start with “concepts” where our team will present possible logo options. The amount of logo options you receive depends on the logo package you have. Once a logo concept is chosen the designers will begin to refine or revise the chosen logo if the client have changes. These revisions could include editing typography, adjusting colors, refining shapes, etc. You are allowed 3 rounds of revisions on your chosen concept; any additional revision rounds may result in an additional fee. When you have selected a concept, made revisions, and your logo is approved you will be required to sign off on the final versions of your logo. Changes to your logo after this point will result in an additional fee. After sign off, the design team will prepare a zip file with many versions of your logo in formats. This package will give you everything you need to use the logo in your business for years to come.
What to expect from our team:
Designing a logo is a creative process- that means your design team needs to be relaxed and free to think and explore. The process takes time; designing under excess pressure is not good for your logo project. In our opinion the best logos are based on collaboration- your ideas, our ideas, genuine open discussions and a solid execution. Be sure to listen to your designer, they will be honest with you when your idea is not suitable for your brand. Your first round of logo concepts will be delivered to you in 7-10 business days. Additional rounds of concepts, if required, will be delivered in 5-7 business days. Once you’ve chosen a concept, revisions will be delivered in 3-5 business days. After you’ve signed off to approve your final logo the design team will prepare your logo package and style guide. This will be delivered to you in 1-3 business days. You should allow at minimum 3 weeks for this process, and depending on the speed of your feedback this process could take a month or more.
What we expect from you:
We expect a strong commitment from you to complete your logo in a reasonable time. You need to be ready for this project. It is collaborative and requires active participation on your part. Taking out time to fill out your questionnaire is vital, finding examples of logos and color options that you like, and being prepared for conference calls. Failure to do so will certainly delay your project. We expect polished and direct feedback, so let’s refine those communication skills. “Make it pop” and “I won’t know what I want until I see it” are not helpful statements. Your design team works hard to listen to you and deliver you a high quality, versatile and memorable identity. We need your honest and concise feedback. When providing feedback do so in one email, listing out your revisions. Please take your time in gathering all your thoughts for your revision emails.
